Desktop App

The standalone desktop app runs Posit Assistant as a native application with a built-in web UI and R runtime.

macOS (Apple Silicon)

Install via the command line:

curl -fsSL https://posit-dev.github.io/assistant/builds/install-desktop.sh | bash

Or download the DMG directly: PositAssistant-macos-arm64.dmg

The installer downloads, prepares, and copies Posit Assistant to /Applications.

Linux

Download the archive for your architecture:

• x64: PositAssistant-linux-x64.tar.gz
• ARM64: PositAssistant-linux-arm64.tar.gz

Extract and run:

tar xzf PositAssistant-linux-*.tar.gz
./PositAssistant
