Parse a string into an integer.


Usage

parse_int(text)
```


Raises `ValueError` if not numeric.


## Parameters


`text: str`  
The string to parse.


## Returns


`int`  
The parsed integer value.


## Raises


`ValueError`  
If the string cannot be parsed as an integer.
